Visa Launches iPhone Application in Time for Final Days of Holiday Shopping

Just in time for the final days of holiday shopping, Visa today launched the Visa Mobile iPhone application, providing consumers exclusive merchant coupons and offers direct to their Apple iPhone. The application, which can be downloaded free from the iTunes app store, gives Visa account holders access to more than 50 unique merchant offers and can be tailored to consumers’ lifestyles and preferences. Account holders with Visa Signature cards can receive special Visa Signature offers in addition to standard offers.

The application is another milestone in Visa’s ongoing strategy to deliver value-added mobile services to consumers around the world. For merchants, the application allows them to tailor their offers and deliver them directly to their customers’ handsets.

The growing list of participating merchants include Planet Hollywood, Papa John’s Pizza, 24-Hour Fitness, Jos A Banks, Tourneau, New York & Company, Holiday Inn, Ramada, Crowne Plaza, Pearle Vision, Meineke, Buca di Beppo, Cold Water Creek and Hard Rock Café.

To help consumers easily redeem the exclusive offers, the Visa Mobile application uses location-based technology to help identify and provide directions to nearby merchant locations. Some offers can also be redeemed online or by telephone through merchant call centers. In addition, the application pinpoints nearby ATMs for added convenience.

In the current economic environment, and especially during the holiday season, Visa believes that consumers can use all the help they can get. That’s why we’re excited to deliver these money-saving options direct to a consumer’s iPhone, helping make both holiday spending and every-day spending a little easier on everyone.
